No matter what relationship I have ever obtained, nothing has ever compared to the one I have with my mother. I am actually at a loss for words right now because it is hard to describe something as amazing as what we have. There are just no words to accurately portray what she has done for me. Some of you may or may not agree with me on this one, but because it is something so important to me, I just had to share it.
So here are three reasons why our mothers are actually our soulmates;
1. She Will Always Love Everything About You
Since the moment we were born they fell in love with everything about us. As we grew older they learned to even love the things they don’t like about us. It’s just unconditional love that could never be broken, no matter what. She’ll always be your number one fan, she’ll always love what you wear (if it’s appropriate), she’ll always sit and listen to your vent sessions, she’ll always love your messy buns, no makeup and clothes that you’ve probably worn the past three days. She’ll always find joy when you do. She’ll always laugh when you do and she’ll always cry with you too. I’ve never felt more loved by anyone then when I am with her and sometimes she doesn’t even have to say anything I can just tell by the way she looks at me.
2. She Tells You Things You Don’t Want to Hear
This is when tough love comes into play. Moms are the ones who can just straight up tell us how it is even if it’s God awful. There are plenty times when I’ve been sat down, as I was growing up, and just cried because I couldn’t believe what I was being told. Regardless of these hurtful times, they are the most rewarding and truthful things anyone has ever told me. What better way to improve on yourself, than hearing it from your mother, the woman who loves everything about you. It really is tough love and I’ve gotten so used to it, that when I know she is about to tell me something in relation to that, I always hear her out because I know she knows best. She always will. That leads me into the last one…
3. She Will Always Know You Better Than You Know Yourself
I can’t keep track of how many times she knows what I am going to say before I even say it. Or if I have a bad day at work, or I’m stressed out or not feeling good, she just knows. I’m serious, she will text me and be like how are you, I have a feeling you are a little off?….She does it all the time and it doesn’t even scare me anymore. It’s just her motherly instinct and I couldn’t be more thankful for it. Whenever I need to talk or ask for advice she provides the best answers possible. Even if I ask all my friends for advice it is never final until I ask her about it. Because, her opinion is the only one that makes all the difference in the world.
Mom, if you’re reading this, (which I know you are cause your’e my number 1 fan, right), I want you to know that I’ve realized that I don’t need to search too far in life to know what I am looking for. Because of you I know who I am, I have passion and compassion, love and hope and the most kindness in my heart. That is all thanks to you. You’re my soulmate.
