Are you looking to plan content on your Instagram feed to make things easier, more consistent and creative? Because, SAME! I really didn’t know what I was missing before investing in applications to help finalize content.
They’ve completely transformed my Instagram into something I love and something others love too. By using the best content planning apps and tools for Instagram, you’ll be on your way to a more successful and consistent brand.
Everyone uses different apps with when it comes to content planning, with some overlap, but it mostly depends on what you’re looking to achieve with your own Instagram.
If you’re an influencer, blogger or business owner, these Instagram apps can seriously transform the way you do things, how you operate on a daily basis and the content that you push out. Because while content curation and captions are most important, it has to look pretty too!
Here are a list and breakdown of my absolute favorite content planning apps:
A complete game-changing, life-savor of an app! Planoly allows you to plan out your Instagram posts ahead of time, so you can see what your posts will look like on your feed before you even post them. You can easily drag and drop which makes it super user-friendly and convenient.
This tremendously helps to visualize and strategically place photos where they will look best based on type of photo, color and texture. I now spend so much time just re-arranging photos to see what looks best and it’s amazing to be able to see it before uploading. I highly recommend this app for planning out your Instagram posts, it will change your life.
This may be every influencer and blogger’s favorite photo-editing app! Lightroom has the best functionality’s when finding the perfect preset for your photo and for your feed. There are general presets you can access within the app, presets you can purchase from other influencers and presets you can create yourself!
I plan to create my own presets in the future – so stay tuned for that 😉 – but in the meantime I am loving and obsessed with Sunday Chapter Presets by Angela Giakas. You may know her as the woman who started the Instagram story template trend! Her presets are SO gorgeous and compliment any photo you want to transform.
Lightroom really is the best platform for editing, because of how much control you have when adjusting lighting, color, effects and details of a photo. Lightroom will seriously light up your life!
Photo Shop Express
Another epic app for photo editing. PS Express allows you to edit and fix figures, shadows or any unwanted details in the background of a photo. Although you have to be very patient and meticulous when using this app, the results will blow your mind.
I’ve been able to completely erase dozens of people walking on a beach in order to highlight a photo solely of the beach, the water and the sunset. It has also come in handy if I’m taking a shot outside and there is garbage lying around, a light post that is awkward and ruins the aesthetics or even splatters and stains on the floor! The before and after photos are always jaw-dropping and I’m so glad I discovered this in-app fix I can make directly from my phone.
This app is so fun! Before discovering Lightroom, I actually used many of Color Story filters over time as they have vibrant and lively filters that compliment photos very beautifully. This platform is extremely user-friendly and there’s something for everyone when it comes to filters and colors for editing photos.
The coolest part is that it has fun features and designs that you can add to your photos to make them stand out like sparkles, splatters, images, textures and light fixtures. These are really great for lifestyle images and telling a story through your photos.
I use this app EVERYDAY! Canva is amazing because it has endless features, templates and designs when it comes to designing branded images whether that be for Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest or your website. I use Cavna to design all my Instagram story announcements, lifestyle images, Pinterest designs, overlays and fashion favorites for any major retailers that I want to share with my audience.
Other benefits of Canva is that is saves all your old templates and is so user-friendly whether on your desktop or phone and allows you to quickly and efficiently create, save and upload templates to your social media platforms. I’ve been able to keep my branded colors consistent across my website and templates I create on Canva since it allows you to insert color codes! This app is a must.
I hope these apps will be helpful for you and will make your content planning a little easier, a little better and a lot more fun! I’d love to know what apps you use, so I can look into them too! xx
